It appears as though Indy will be hosting a NHC first round site again next year. This was posted on the FBI Facebook page by Sandy Cockerham;
Sending this out to the collective hive in the Indianapolis metro area. We are having one of the NHC first round competitions here. Our two possible dates are the earliest weekend, (March 11-12) or the final weekend of first round, (April 15-16). An early flight on on Sunday morning could be a possibility each of those weekends but we would try to avoid that if we can. Well, we had a spot but it fell through. Now we are seeking alternate locations that won't cost an arm and a leg and who won't require us to use their catering (unless it is tasty food at very reasonable prices.) So, PM me if you know of spots. Catholic, Episcopal or Orthodox churches with kitchens and gymnasiums are viable options. Obviously beer has to be able to be there so that knocks out certain spots. We need the space to have walk in cooler space or the availability of us to bring a refrigerated truck up close to the entrance. Tables and chairs on site would be a plus. I'm just putting this out to brainstorm. I would like to get all the ducks in a row before January if at all possible. We want to get the dates out there so that I can fill the judge rosters with BJCP judges! Note: probably need to seat a max of 65-75 judges at the most. Can't be a loud place and shouldn't have lots of aromas to mess with the judges' noses. Any breweries that think they can pull that off would be our first choice, but I'm open to all options.

If you are thinking about becoming a BJCP judge....
Dear FBI crew, This year we return to NHC first round status in Indianapolis. This year our site will judge at Fountain Square Brewing on March 11-12. We are also going to tie in a reception event on Friday evening for the Brewers Cup to give a flavor of what that great event brings. Then, Brewers Cup is July 8-9 this year. I'm again hoping to take it as close to 100% BJCP participation as possible! Also, pencil in for a local competition in the fall October 21-22, more details to come!
We've been a bit short on local competitions for FBI judges (and stewards, the folks that make it all work so smoothly) so we are working to boost our options. We always welcome more judges, see Ron for training in the fall and if you are ready, I'll be hosting an exam in April (final date to be decided. Either weekend of April 15-16 or April 29-30. Part of that depends on when UpCup happens (I hope those two dates as 22-24 is a cider event in Michigan, GLINTCAP, that cider folks might like to judge at.) Wishing everyone a great holiday season (whichever holiday you celebrate.) And, a Happy New Year! Hope to see everyone at the holiday party at Ron and Tracey's house. cheers, Sandy

I like that idea. Do you want to print some up, or shall I?
